- C language was designed by Dennis Ritchie
- C was Developed by Dennis Ritchie in 1972 at bell laboratories of AT&T located in U.S.A.
- C is called as imperative ,procedural or structural Language.
- C was invented to write UNIX operating system.
- C file is saved with extension of .c
- C is a successor of B language.
- C was formalized in 1988 by ANSI.
- C codes runs faster compared to other languages.
- C was adopted as a system development language because it produces code that runs nearly as fast as code in assembly language.
- C is used in follows:
- OS development
- Compiler design
- Interpreter design
- Network drivers
- micro controllers
- text editors
- Databases
- utilities etc..
